Brief History
Barangay San Julian got its name from its patron Saint, San Julian patron of farmers. Most of the residents are Catholics although some other religions also exist here. The ruin of the Protestant Church is still visible up to these days.
An old Kilometer Post still exist in this barangays. East of our Barangay is a Catholic Chapel constructed during the Spanish period. The chapel has been preserved in connection with the City Government Program of Heritage Conservation.
Socio-Economic Profile
Barangays San Julian has a lot of facilities , like the Barangay Hall, used as Session hall by the Sangguniang Barangay, Sangguniang Kabataan and the Non-Government Organizations. The Community Precinct, use an outpost for the Barangay Tanods, wherein the people could turn to for uncertain events. The Health Center, caring for the health and Sanitation of the residents. The Day Care Center, where the young ones are moulded for the future. The Barangay Library, where, the youth use as references and other needs for their studies. The Barangay Multi-Purpose Pavement, for sports and other important activities. The Catholic Chapel, where people to worship our Creator and thank for the numerous blessings, imparted. Waiting Sheds, for shelter for residents going elsewhere. The Potable Water, safe drinking water, located at the west, east and middle part of the barangay.
Farming is the main industry of the barangay. The farmers produce rice, corn, root crops like camote, tugi and camoteng kahoy. This barangay is famous for its banana called ''Tumok" Through the Technical Method endorsed by the City Government, we hope to increase our food production. We also have other sources of livelihood. We have Native Delicacies or home made cakes. We are among the distributors of longganisa to the CSI, Hall in San Fernando City and in Candon City. We also have professionals employed by the Government and Private Sectors. We are true to our Vision, as peaceful and a progressive barangay in the future.
